North Hills Surgery Center hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Your physician will schedule your procedure and a Pre-Admission (PAT) appointment with North Hills Surgery Center. If you need to reschedule your PAT appointment please call 479-713-6161.

During your Pre-Admission appointment, please be prepared to discuss your medical and surgical history.

Pre-Op Instructions:

Bring a list of all medications you take on a daily basis, including diet pills.
Please discontinue diet pills 2 weeks prior to your surgery date

A list of your allergies

Name and phone number of your family physician

Date and location of your last EKG, chest X-ray, and lab work

If you have a Living Will or Advance Directive, please bring it with you

If you need an interpreter

Please bring your insurance cards and social security number

Pre-Anesthesia Questionnaire

If your insurance does not cover 100 percent of the surgery cost, please be prepared to pay your co-pay and deductible the day of your surgery. We are happy to file your insurance claim for you. However, you are responsible for the bill. During your PAT appointment our financial representative will discuss the amount due the day of surgery. We accept all major credit cards including Care Credit. For more information regarding Care Credit please visit their website: www.carecredit.com.

If you need to provide North Hills with your insurance information or discuss your fees and payment options, please contact one of our financial representatives at 479-713-6100 and choose option 1.

Physician and Specialist Fees: Professional fees charged by your physician and other specialists including anesthesiologists, pathologists, radiologists, and physician consultants are not included in your surgery center bill. These physicians will bill you directly for their services.

Do not eat or drink anything (including water), chewing gum, candy or mints after midnight the night before your surgery. Do not drink alcoholic beverages for 24 hours before or after surgery.

If you do not follow these instructions, your surgery may be cancelled or postponed.

Plan to arrive at North Hills Surgery Center 1 hour and 15 minutes before your procedure is scheduled, unless the PAT nurse specifies differently. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children scheduled for sugery.

Please arrange in advance for someone to drive you home following surgery. Every patient must be accompanied by a responsible adult. For your protection, you will not be permitted to drive yourself home. If you do not have a ride, your case will be cancelled. No exceptions will be made.

Please bring any equipment your physician gave to you. (i.e.: braces, crutches, slings)

Do not wear nail polish, heavy makeup or jewelry.

We encourage your family member or friend to remain at the surgery center during your procedure. Your surgeon will want to speak with them after your surgery is complete.

You will be monitored in our recovery room after surgery. The nurse will monitor your vital signs, your comfort level, and ask you to cough and take deep breaths to aid in your recovery. If you have had a general anesthetic, expect to spend a minimum of 30 minutes in the recovery room.

Once you are stable, you will be moved to second stage recovery. You will be able to drink fluids and have a family member or friend visit when your condition allows. Expect to spend another 30 minutes or so in second stage recovery.

During your stay in stage two recovery, your nurse will ask you to complete a short satisfaction survey regarding your visit, the center values your opinion; please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Once you are ready to go home, the nurse will review instructions with you and/or the person accompanying you. Be sure to follow your doctor's instructions regarding medication and diet.

The next business day after surgery, you will receive a phone call from one of our nurses checking on your progress. Please feel free to ask questions or report any concerns at this time.
